For the 2022 general election, the WV Can’t Wait Action Committee needed a campaign video package for their Charleston slate — one core video plus individual versions for each of their eight candidates: Joe Solomon, Sheena Griffith, Michael Ferrell, Malyka Knapp-Smith, Gail Michelson, Chelsea Steelhammer, Frank Annie, and Dana Skerbetz.
The core video was about 90 seconds and laid out the collective vision. From there, I cut eight candidate-specific versions that each highlighted the individual while keeping the overall message cohesive. The trick with multi-version political video is efficiency — you’re telling essentially the same story eight different ways, so the edit structure has to be modular enough to swap candidate-specific content without rebuilding the whole thing each time.
Nine total deliverables from one production. That’s the kind of math that makes political campaign budgets work.
